Detailed Snow Status by Section

This information comes from the 2024 July 5th survey by the Sentinel-2 satellite.

Section L (north of Rainy Pass)

- Patches of snow on Cutthroat Pass
- Small paches on Grasshopper Pass
- Larger patches below Syncline Mtn.
- very small paches on the east ridge of Cone Mtn.
- Small patches NE of Tamarack Peak
- small patches at Rock Pass and east of Powder Mtn.
- small patches west of lakeview Ridge to Devils Stairway, with a large patch at the top of Devils Stairway.
- Then totally clear into Canada.

Section K, North (Suiattle Bridge to Rainy Pass)

Snow fields from Suiattle Pass (2554) to past Sitting Bull Mtn (2560), the rest is clear

Section K, South (Steven Pass to Suiattle Bridge)

- Mostly clear to north of Lake Janus (2478.5)
- Then frequent snow patches to north of Cady Pass (2495.3)
- Then mostly snow until you are on the north side of Red Pass (2508.5)
- From there it clear to Glacier Ridge (2517.5)
- Them nostly snow until you are well east of Mica Lake (2525)
- The Milk Creek valley is clear
- Mostly snow again from (2532 - 2536)
- Then clear to Suiattle Bridge.

Section J (Snoqualmie Pass to Stevens Pass)

Northbound from Snoqualime Pass you will encounter snow patches just before Kendall Katwalk.
- Solid snow from Kendall Katwalk to between Gravel Lake and Alaska lake
- Snow patches on the west side of Alaska Mtn and a large snow field on the north side of Alaska Mtn.
- Clear around Joe Lake.
- About 50/50 snow all along the traverse under Chickamin Peak and Four Brothers.
- Significant snow in the Park Lakes valley and on Three Queesn ridge ending at 2413
- About 50/50 patches at Cathedral Pass and around Cathedral Peak
- Significant snow on both sides of Pieper Pass
- Patchy from 2457 to 2458
- Large snow field SW of Lake Josephine.
- Then clear to Stevens Pass

Section I, North (Naches Pass to Snoqualmie Pass)

This section is completely clear.

Section I, Mid (Chinook Pass to Naches Pass)

This section is effectively clear
There a lot of snow between the Chinook Pass pedestrian bridge and the Trailhead parking lot.
One small patch north of Sourdough Gap.
One small patch north of Pickhandle Point.
Then clear all the way to Mike Urich Cabin.

Section I, South (White Pass to Chinook Pass)

From 2300 - 2303 you will see many small patches that are not interfering with the trail, and again from 2305 - 2308.
Then clear to Fish Lake 2312 where you will see a lot of snow but the trail should be clear as you go thru it.
At the high ridge (2316) you will start walking on large snow fields for one mile.
Then its spotty infrequent small snow patches.
One more snow feild to cross at 2319.6 which is less than 1/4 mile.
More spotty infrequent small snow patches from 2320 to Dewey Lake.
The climb up from Dewey Lake is clear.
Mostly snow on the Naches Peak Loop all the way to the pedestrian overpass and the parking lot.

Section H, North (Goat Rocks, Midway to White Pass)

The trail is about 25% covered by many small patches from 2261.5 - 2264.
Spotty snow from 2272 - 2274 Then significant snow to 2284.5
Some snow patches on the ridge west of Shoe Lake
Significant snow over the ridge north of Show Lake, diminishing as you approach the top of the chairlifts at White Pass.

Section H, Mid (Mt Adams, Williams Mine to Midway)

Trail about 75% snow covered by many small patches from 2237 - 2247.5
Then clear to Midway.

Section H, South (Columbia River to Williams Mine (Trout Lake))

In Indian Heaven you will encounter a lot of spotty but insignificant snow patches from Blue Lake (2208.5 - 2214.3)
Then completely clear to Williams Mine.
