Detailed Snow Status by Section

This information comes from the last survey by the Sentinel-2 satellite. That satellite scans the relevant area every five days.

As of July 10th, 2024, the PCT intersects snow at these locations:

Section L (north of Rainy Pass)

Rare patches remain that should be gone this week. Definitely no spikes or axe needed today.

Section K, North (Suiattle Bridge to Rainy Pass)

Short patches around Sitting Bull Mtn (2558) and on Suiattle Pass (2555) that should be gone this week.

Section K, South (Steven Pass to Suiattle Bridge)

- Clear from Stevens Pass to Pear Lake.
- From Pear Lake to Red pass there are frequent but small snow patches to cross that should be gone this week.
- Significant snow at Red Pass (2507) but not on either side.
- Significant snow around Mica Lake and Milk Lake (both are still frozen over) (2522.3-2524.6).
- The Milk Creek valley is clear. - On the north side of Glacier Peak, spotty patches from 2532.3 - 2534.5 Then clear to Suiattle bridge.
Anything not explicitly mentioned is clear.

Section J (Snoqualmie Pass to Stevens Pass)

Northbound from Snoqualime Pass you will encounter snow immediately after Kendall Katwalk.
- Significant snow on the north side of Alaska Mtn
- Spotty small patches of snow on the traverse under Chickamin Peak and Four Brothers.
- Snow on the Three Queens Ridge over Spectacle Lake
- A few large patches on Pieper Pass
- A few small patches south of Josephine Lake
Any parts not specifically mentioned are clear.

Section I, North (Naches Pass to Snoqualmie Pass)

This section is completely clear.

Section I, Mid (Chinook Pass to Naches Pass)

This section is completely clear, aside from a few patches between the Chinook Pass pedestrian bridge and the Trailhead parking lot.

Section I, South (White Pass to Chinook Pass)

Clear from White Pass to Crag Lake
- very few intermittant patches north of Craig Lake
- clear from Dewey lake up to the Naches Loop.
- still more than 50% snow on the Naches Loop.

Section H, North (Goat Rocks, Midway to White Pass)

Clear from Midway to the unnamed pass south of Cispus Pass where you enter the Indian Reservation.
- Then a lot of snow at Goat Rocks
- The PCT crosses some snow on Hogback Mountain to the ridge over Shoe Lake.

Section H, Mid (Mt Adams, Williams Mine to Midway)

Many intermittant snow patches around Mt Adams which should melt out soon.
Then clear to Midway.

Section H, South (Columbia River to Williams Mine (Trout Lake))

Completely clear.
You may see a few minor patches in Indian Heaven.
