High Bridge from Stehekin

High Bridge Ranger station is one of the few places on the PCT that you can reach entirely by public transport.

Three busses, red, white, and blue

There are three busses in Stehekin that all go from Stehekin Landing/The Lodge to the High Bridge Ranger Station.

• The red bus was operated by the North Cascades Lodge but was discontinued in 2022.
• The white bus is operated by Stehekin Valley Ranch
• The blue bus is operated by Stehekin Valley Adventures

Stehekin from Chelan

To get to Stehekin you can take any of to ferries from Chelan.

Lady of the lake

The Lady of the Lake is both the name of one of their boats and the name of the Lake Chelan Boat Company website. The 2026 routes are:

• The Cascade Flyer - Direct to Stehekin takes 1 hr 15 min.
• The Lady Liberty - Direct to Stehekin takes 1 hr 30 min
• The Speedway - Direct to Stehekin takes 2 hrs 30 min
• The Lady Express - Stops at Fields Point landing and takes 2 hrs 30 min to reach Stehekin.
• The Lady of the Lake - Stops at Field’s Point Landing, Prince Creek, Lucerne (Port of Holden Village), Moore Point, and takes 4 hrs to reach Stehekin.

Stehekin Ferry

The other ferry company is the Stehekin Ferry. Check the schedule. This only stops at Stehekin once a day. It serves Field’s Point Landing and Lucerne (Port of Holden Village).

Important!

There are two places to catch the ferry in Chelan; The Chelan Dock, and Fields Point Dock. Fields Point is 17.5 miles from Chelan and has no public transit option, whereas the bus will drop you off right at Chelan Dock which is 1.2 miles from the Center of Chelan and the City Hall. Fields Point has more parking so is the better options if you are driving there.

Chelan (US-97)

Link Transit Route 21 will take you to from the Amtrack Station in Wenatchee to Chelan City Hall on E Johnson Ave. Ask if they will drop you at the Chelan Ferry Dock.

Alternate PCT Route

Lucerne (Holden Village) is relevant to a popular PCT alternate route over Cloudy Pass and can be used to create a loop route with Stehekin. However due to the winter storms Holden Village is closed for repairs this spring.
