The Miners Ridge Lookout is the 3rd most remote lookout in the state of Washington, 26.5 trail-miles in. The base of this staffed lookout is at 6,208 ft.
Miners Ridge was so named thanks to an abundance of early 1900s mining activity in the area. The first lookout constructed on the summit was a 10′x 10′ shake cabin in 1926, followed by a 20′x 20' timber cabin in 1938. In 1953, it was replaced by another 20′ treated timber cabin which is the structure that exists today.
An alternate route to Suiattle Pass will take you up to Miners Ridge and the lookout is just a very short distance on a side trail.
