Public Transit to/from trailheads

This content was last updated on 2026 March 26th.

The Resupply page lists many places to access the trail by private vehicle. This page covers accessing the trail using public transit. This information is divided into four pages:

  1. Transit Options to Mazama/Rainy Pass/Harts Pass/Lions Den. This includes airport information for SeaTac, PAE, and BLI.
  2. Transit Options to Cascade Locks/Bridge of the Gods/Trout Lake. This includes airport information for PDX.
  3. Transit Options to High Bridge & Stehekin, Holden & Lucerene. This includes information for Chelan.
  4. Transit Options to Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, Chinook Pass, White Pass, Manning Park. So basically everything else.

There are only three PCT trailheads you can reach by public transit alone with no private assistance. Those are:

  1. High Bridge (Stehekin)
  2. Stevens Pass
  3. Bridge of The Gods (Cascade Locks) All other access points require covering some distance between the last transit stop and the trailhead.

The easiest way to travel is to get another hiker or "trail angel" to give you a ride the entire way. But some hikers prefer the predictability of public transit or they simply cannot find a ride. You can connect with private drivers on the Facebook Group PCT Washington Trail Angels. Taxi, Uber, or Lyft are generally not options except near the Interstate 5 corridor.
